SURAGUS GmbH is a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for
Non-Destructive Testing Dresden, and develops non-
destructive testing systems for both inline and offline
characterization of functional thin films, carbon fiber
materials and Metal, Alloys and Ceramics. There are
different testing systems for sheet resistance and layer
thickness measurement of wafer-based systems, metallic thin-
films (Al, Mo, Zn, Ag), and functional transparent thin-
films on glass and foils (ITO, Graphene, CNT, metal grids)
that are single-point devices, inline systems, and mapping
solutions. Furthermore, SURAGUS offers conductivity mappings
for defect identification and quality assurance of single
and multi-layer systems.
Another important business segment of the company involvs
the characterization as well as quality assurance of carbon
fiber materials (RCF, woven fabric, non-crimp fabric,
fleece, braid, or CFRP etc.). The characterization of
carbon fiber materials includes both structural analysis and
basis weight measurement.
SURAGUS offers an automated mapping solution for 2D and 2.5D
(curved surface) sample geometries. Our systems are
dedicated to automated high-volume testing of flat and
curved parts. The systems are equipped with customized
sample retainers, which are adapted to the shape of the
testing part and specimen.
