Class Instrumentation is a well established company operating globally at the forefront of NDT and ultrasonic testing.
All of our units are designed and manufactured in full accordance with ISO9001: 2000, guaranteeing the quality of each of our products. We work closely with The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Classification Society, from whom we have accreditation to produce Type Approved products for the marine industry. We are corporate members of The NFPA, The International Institute of Marine Surveyors (IIMS) and The Nautical Institute. We are fully committed to the marine sector where we continue to create products that are fully compliant with all IMO, IACS and SOLAS standards and regulations.
The Touchstone 1 is a high performance, handheld thickness gauge, often known as an ultrasonic thickness gage in the USA, or ultrasonic wall thickness gauge. It is suitable for use in a variety of applications in NDT and is capable of measuring most engineering materials including plastic, glass, copper, cast iron and aluminium as well as a wide range of steels. The Touchstone 1 is simple to calibrate and operate and produces accurate and reproducible results.
The Touchstone 1 ultrasonic thickness gage is widely used in ultrasonic thickness testing, in quality control during manufacturing and as an inspection tool to measure remaining wall thickness of materials subject to erosion and corrosion including pipelines, hulls, storage vessels and plant.
The Touchstone 2 coating thickness gauge is easy to use and requires no couplant, it will work on rough surfaces in any condition.
This coating gauge uses the magnetic properties of the substrate material to determine the coating thickness - ie the distance the sensor face is held off the steel by the coating. The Touchstone 2 Hall effect sensor will measure a wide range of non-magnetic coatings on ferrous substrates including;
•paint, plastic, stainless steel, galvanised zinc, aluminium and tin
•Highly accurate Hall effect sensor
•Measures any non-ferrous coating
•Measures up to 8mm of coating
