(USMT) started as a service company for N/C Systems and electronic machine controls in 1967 working out of Farmington, Connecticut. In those early years all of our work was "In-Field" servicing. Later a small N/C lathe, The "Mini Turn", was developed by USMT for precise secondary operations. A second, more versatile version was developed, and production demands forced a move to a larger facility in Hartford, Connecticut. Utilizing the skills of our electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians, USMT, proceeded in 1979 to increase the spectrum of work by diversifying into rebuilding, remanufacturing/retrofitting, including "in-field retrofits" of precision machine tools. In 1982 , due to a poor economy and foreign competition eroding the new CNC lathe product line, the decision was made to divest the lathe product line and focus on the rebuild, remanufacture, and retrofit of machine tools. In 2005, USMT moved to it's present facility in Bristol, Connecticut. From 1967 to present, the USMT rebuild, remanufacture and retrofit business has grown with an excellent reputation for integrity, quality, prompt service response, and value.
