Solve magnetic interference problems with magnetic shields. Developing unique solutions to meet customer needs for 65 Years Magnetic Shield Corporation, a division of Perfection Mica Company, is the premier supplier of custom magnetic shields, room and wall EMF shields and magnetic shielding material. The Perfection Mica Company was born in 1941 to meet the demand for electronic component insulation, that increased dramatically during World War II. The Magnetic Shield Division was created in the late 1940's, again to meet customer demand for this new technology. The awareness of Perfection Mica in the electronics industry helped the Division's entry into aerospace, medical, television, telephone, radio, appliance and pure research. By the mid-1950s, magnetic shields overtook the Mica business, and Magnetic Shield Corporation officially became the primary enterprise. In 1955 trademark status was granted for the two alloys that are the benchmark of magnetic shielding materials - NETIC and CO-NETIC . In fields of low intensity, CONETIC AA is used in order to utilize its high initial permeability and corresponding high attenuation characteristics. In fields of high intensity, NETIC S3-6 is preferred because of its high magnetic saturation characteristics. Our Mumetal , CO-NETIC and NETIC alloys offer the same high permeability as Hipernom , HyMu-80 and Permalloy . Our alloys, and the shields created with them, have been shipped worldwide for decades. Typical applications include: » crt monitor shields » room and wall shields » NASA satellites » heart monitors » US Navy submarines » computer hardware » check readers » lasers Magnetic shielding, (also known as magnetic shields, magnetic screens and EMI shielding), prevents magnetic fields from reaching areas where they would cause magnetic interference. Magnetic shielding is used around either the source of interference, to prevent electromagnetic radiation from leaving a device; or more typically, around a sensitive device, to p
