The Johnson Electric Supply Company - Main Our 100th year serving Greater Cincinnati! Greetings from our beautiful location on the banks of the Ohio. Welcome to the home page of The Johnson Electric Supply Company. We are a wholesale distributor of electrical components and supplies with two locations in Greater Cincinnati and two in Greater Columbus. The market we serve consists of contractors, manufacturers and commercial users. Our company was founded on June 1, 1907 by Claude W. Johnson, Sr. This early century entrepreneur was ahead of his time. His desire was to create a service oriented, small business friendly company that offered one stop shopping to meet the needs of Cincinnati companies that were discovering the new world of electricity and its usage. Many of the manufacturers he chose to partner with are still our marquee partners today, including Cutler-Hammer, Westinghouse and Appleton. These three, along with hundreds of others, allow our company to meet the needs of the marketplace while consistently setting new standards for innovative services. Claude W. Johnson, Jr., our founder's son, led the company from 1946 until 1998. "Bud," as he was known to his friends, joined his father in the business in 1937, serving as president from 1946 to 1989, and chairman until his death in 1998. He was a marketing innovator, playing an active role in bringing features such as drive-in windows, on site trade shows, mobile home product demonstrations and customer newsletters to the electrical industry. We are now celebrating our 100th anniversay year and our third generation of family ownership and operation. Our mission is still to provide unsurpassed customer service. With four warehouses, four service counters, eight delivery vehicles, over two and a half million dollars of inventory and fifty three dedicated employees, we want you to experience doing business with us.
