Experience
Have (15) years of NDT experience in assignment comparable to Level II in applicable NDT methods in Ultrasonics, Liquid Penetrant, and Magnetic Particle; two (2) years of that experience must be in the OCTG area. Plus, have passed a Level III examination given by ASNT or equivalent testing agency. Plus, have documented evidence of experience, including the preparation of NDT procedures to codes, specifications and the evaluation of test results.
Have obtained a degree in engineering or science equivalent from a university. Two (2) years of experience in the method certification is required, while having the basic and method examinations passed given by ASNT headquarters.
NDT Level III. An ASNT NDT Level III individual should be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. The NDT Level III should be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and NDT Level I & II personnel. The NDT Level III should be able to organize and report the results of NDT tests. (SNT-TC-1A, 4.3.2)
