Certified Level II in UT Perform ultrasonic inspections of composite parts, including carrying out and recording the required checks of in-use materials, cleaning of parts prior to inspection, post-cleaning of parts, and maintenance of equipment. Support Ultrasonic testing, pulse-echo straight beam (compression) on both new product development and continuing production. Perform and interpret NDT inspections on composite fuel line products per applicable test processes and procedures. Coordinate as necessary with UT-Level 1 or 2 personnel per NAS-410 requirements for assigned product responsibilities. Participate in development of test requirements for Ultrasonic testing. Assist in the identifying non-conforming product corrective and preventive action process by working with other departments to develop effective solutions to problems. Review drawing releases and changes to ensure all test requirements are correct and that Ultrasonic test requirements can be met. Evaluate various details and assemblies including C-17 Spoilers, Apache Main and Tail rotor blades, Bell tail rotors, Hawker 800 Winglet Assemblies, F-22 Graphite panels, Carson Helicopters Main rotors and Boeing 737 Spoilers. Equipment utilized includes Matec 5-axis C-scan systems, Matec AUIS contour-following C-scan system, KrautKramer USN-60 and Sonatest Masterscan 330 pulse-echo instruments, Bondascope 2100 and Stavely Bondmaster bond testing instruments. I additionally operate various X-ray tubes and film processors to perform complex, multi-exposure radiographic inspections of composites, including graphite laminate, honeycomb (Nomex and aluminum) and metal-to-metal bond. My duties also include liquid penetrant of various metallic detail parts used in our composite assemblies.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Use automated C-scan as well as contact UT inspection, visual inspection, visible and fluorescent dye penetrant testing to inspect components, hardware, and sub-assemblies of military and civilian aircraft.
• Previous Level II certification in RT and PT; and qualified in MT magnetic particle tests.
• Precision Measuring Devices: eye loupes, rulers, tape measures, and borescope.
• Computer Competencies: automated C-scan Ultrasonic, including Mistras UTwin for UltraPac, Winspect Data Acquisition software utilizing Olympus hardware, and Matec Instrument Company’s proprietary and custom software. Mistras, Winspect, and Matec are each Windows based software.
• NDT testing of components, hardware, and sub-assemblies of AH-64 Apache, Lockheed Martin F-22, Boeing C-17, Boeing 787/777/737 programs, Bell Helicopters, Hawker 800, Bell/Boeing V-22, Carson Helicopter main rotor blade, Bell 429 Helicopter, and Honeywell bypass duct.
• Primarily work with UT testing on C-scan
• Experience generating nonconformance reports and Scrap Tags for found discrepancies.
• Able to verify specifications using purchase orders, prints, drawings, inspection instructions, and checklists.
