Local 112 members receive free career-long training and re-training as technology changes. Trainers and union staff advise and help members move up to higher pay grades as their experience and skills grow. One of the major advantages of being a local 112 member is the training it provides. In order to receive the training and certifications required to work in the NDT field, it can cost tens of thousands of dollars for various classes. As a member of local 112, the costs incurred for training are negotiated into your contract pay rate from the various signatory contractors that use our labor. Our union members, through the NDT training fund owns its own equipment for supplying the training needed as well as employs multiple full-time level III trainers for teaching classes and providing support in the field for new employees.
