Panametrics was founded in 1960. In the
1960s, Panametrics" main customer was the
United States government, and our main
"product" was R&D. We conducted R&D for
the Air Force, NASA, Office of Naval
Research, and a few industrial sponsors. Our
Opto-Line Associates, Inc. specializes in spin
codings. Panametrics, especially its Space
Instrumentation Division, still conducts R&D for
these and other sponsors. But now our main
products are industrial instruments that are used
principally in two fields: nondestructive testing
and process control.
