Summary:  International Inspections is seeking an Entry Level NDT Tech with classroom in UT, MT and PT at a minimum for their busy office near San Diego, CA (Chula Vista/Imperial Beach)

Typically 32-40+ hours per week depending on projects. Fab shops mostly with AWS D1.5 and D1.1 project work as well as ASME B31.3 and Sec VIII work. This shop prides itself on getting it done right the first time. Looking for candidates with decent and relevant experience.  Pay rates start at $20/hr and can be as high as $35 DOE and Certs.

While this position will be expected to help in a variety of ways, the following are part of the core purpose of the position and will likely be done on a daily basis:


Perform non-destructive testing and examination at client sites
Manage equipment and materials necessary for the completion of inspection
Compile client reports including drawings using CAD and word processors
Meet deadlines for work and reports, potentially on nights and weekends
Work with clients to locate and identify indications and their probable causes
General shop-assistant duties to keep the NDT shop in working order

Skills:
Minimum: Requirements/Qualifications:

NDT Assistants/Trainees High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; math and print reading skills; ability to used computers for data entry and report writing; Applicants with documented prior NDT classroom training or OJT preferred in MT, PT and UT.
NDT Level II Technicians Meet the minimum requirements of a Level II Technician; provide documentation of education, training, and experience in the applicable NDT method(s); have a working knowledge of industrial environments and general manufacturing processes; ability to effectively communicate with other departments, and customers to report issues and solve problems.
All applicants require the following:

Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures.
Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
Applicants must pass a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Conditions:

Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc.
Work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.
Work in around operating equipment and industrial environments.
Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.
Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week and travel for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
