In this position, located in Phoenix, AZ, you will perform engineering evaluation including defect analysis, nondestructive testing (NDT) methods analysis, and inspection (when inspection is required must have a minimum level II certification). Prepare, revise, review and approve Non-destructive technique sheets including evaluation of supplier techniques and procedures. Prepare and review engineering specifications. Develop and evaluate new equipment and technology. Design and evaluate inspection reference standards. Provide technical support to manufacturing, engineering, programs, field personnel, and suppliers. Audit internal NDT inspection. Other duties to include participating in the development of NDT training course material for level I, II, and III. Testing and certifying NDT level I, II, and III inspectors in accordance with NAS 410 and company requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
•Current ASNT Level I/II Certifications preferred, with the documented qualifications required to certify to NAS 410 Level I/II in the following methods:

•Liquid Penetrant (PT)

•Must be able to certify to NAS 410 Level I/II requirements in all qualified methods within 90 days of employment

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and database utilization.

Desired Skills:

•Experience applying liquid penetrant to parts (dip, spray, brush), process through system using manual and/or computer menu (wash, dry, develop), inspect parts under darkened conditions with (UV) black light for defects, per drawings and specifications.
•Identify and document discrepancies
•Perform inspection of re-work
•Experience with NDT of weldments
•Multiple NDT Level III certifications are a plus
•Familiarity with NAVAIR Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) manuals and processes
•Familiarity with ASTM-E1417 NDT standards
•Technical writing experience
•Familiarity with AS9100, and Nadcap audit requirements for NDT special processes
•The ability to collaborate and work well with fellow team members
