CAREER SUMMARY

I have gained 24 years experience working in such capacities as Construction QA/QC Welding / Pipeline / N.D.T and Inspection Engineer. Responsible for Vendor, Mechanical, QA/QC Inspections and coordination, within a wide range of industries, both on & offshore In the U.K and Over seas.
I have been employed during the construction, manufacture, installation and repair of offshore Plant & Equipment, including, Overland & Sub-sea Pipelines, Pressure Vessels, Wellhead and Drilling equipment, Lifting Equipment, Valves, Stationary, Rotary plant, and related equipment. process piping systems and structural steelwork.
My Coating inspection experience covers the application of Neoprene, Epoxy, Polyethylene, Coal Tar Weight Coat, Bituminous and Mastic coatings.
I have monitored weld procedures and welder approvals. and carried out surveillance and random checks on contractors in house Q/A procedures and Quality Plans, including dimensional cross checks, witnessing of hydrostatic testing and mechanical tests. Review of verifying documents. Application of Ultrasonic’s, Radiography, Magnetic Particle & Dye Penetrant Inspections. Familiarisation with Windows. 98. Microsoft Word, and Excel.

WORK EXPERIENCE CONT.

JANUARY 2000 – PRESENT NECE ABERDEEN
OFFSHORE INSPECTION ENGINEER (PLANT & EQUIPMENT) – Kerr McGee Janice ‘A’ installation Floating Production Vessel. Liaison with production, maintenance and facilities departments with reference to statutory regulations on plant and process systems. Liaison with vendor inspection specialists and review findings and recommendations.
Responsible for safety critical inspections, replacement spool dimensioning and material ordering, fabric maintenance control, and, lifting and rigging equipment inspections S1198. NO 2307
Supervising ongoing baseline survey of all platform pipework systems. Hands-on element comprising of various NDT routines on plant and piping.


J ULY 1999 – JAN 2000 SERVTECH INSPECTION SERVICES
GENERAL INSPECTOR/ SURVEYOR -Duties to carry out general Semi Submersible Drilling Rig Inspections and Surveys worldwide, including Ultrasonic, MPI, DPI and Fabrication Inspections (Welding/Mechanical), Structural & piping Surveys. Drilling Tool and Sub-sea Drilling equipment, and periodic Lifting gear inspections. Compile inspection reports and update Computer Database.


JUNE 1999 – JULY 1999 (AD-HOC) OIS ABERDEEN
INSPECTION ENGINEER – Working on behalf of Brown & Root Total (North Alwyn & Dunbar Projects) covering Vendor Inspections during manufacturing activities by the Vendors.
Duties are to review documentation and certification carry out random dimensional checks, witness hold points, Hydro Tests. Carry out weld audits and perform radiographic interpretation these duties are carried out through to final release.


JULY1998 – JUNE 1999 SERVTECH INSPECTION SERVICES
CLIENTS QC.INSPECTOR - For R&B Falcon Drilling Deep Water Division, during the conversion of an Oil Tanker into a Drill Ship (Peregrine VIII) at the Lisnave Shipyard Setubal Portugal. Duties are to review, monitor and oversee the Lisnave Quality Procedures NDT Welding and quality Inspection Plans, sentence radiographs, and carry out general inspections along with DNV during fabrications and hull surveys. The Project has been cancelled and my responsibilities cover the closing up of two Oil Tankers to ensure water tightness and complete installation of the Moon-pool fabrication working to DNV Standards..


FEBRUARY 1998 -JULY 1998 MOODY INTERNATIONAL (ABERDEEN).

VENDOR INSPECTOR - Carry out Vendor Inspections and expediting services for various clients in and around the Grampian area.
Vendor Inspection duties include the witness, during breakout, torque, hydrostatic testing and dimensional checks, prior to the release of Down Hole Drilling Completion Equipment, and Xmas Trees being shipped offshore for BHP Liverpool Bay Project. The inspection and testing carried out at Baker Oil Tools, Nodeco, and Cameron Valves.
Other duties extended vendor inspection for the Amec Chevron Alba PH IIB Project which, involved visits to various Vendor premises where I witnessed final testing of Valves, Plant and Equipment, including NDT, Radiographic Interpretation and Hydrostatic testing, reviewed verifying documents and Data books



APRIL 1995 - FEBRUARY 1998 OCCIDENTAL PETROLEUM OF QATAR LTD.
INSPECTION ENGINEER - For O.P.Q.L on their P-S1 Oil and Gas production platform offshore Qatar, Responsible for the coordination and planning of Fabrication, Mechanical, and NDT inspections/Surveys on Process Plant and Equipment carried out on a day to day basis. Inspection carried out on a wide variety of Stationary and Rotating equipment including, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Lifting equipment Pressure Vessels Wellhead, Drilling equipment, and Lifting Gear.
Compiled full and comprehensive inspection reports.
Responsible for the implementation of a Topside Baseline corrosion survey using the Panametrics. Ultrasonic gauge, and down loading Data using the computer based data logger, combined with the Word Perfect and Lotus Programmes to produce final reports.
QA/QC SUPERVISOR for OPQL On their Work Boats during Flow line tie-ins and installation of Process Pipework, Valves, Pressure Vessels etc. to remote Wellhead Jackets, QA/QC Duties also covered E & I, Dimensional checks on field run piping Material Traceability, Radiographic Interpretation, Witnessing of PWHT and Hydrostatic Testing. Reviewed and signed off Final Job Packs.

SEPTEMBER 1994 - APRIL 1995 ALBYN OILFIELD SERVICES
OILFIELD DRILLING TOOL INSPECTOR - Performed Inspections of Down Hole Drilling Tools ,including Subs, Stabilizers, Scrapers, Reamers, Drill Pipe, Collars, and Tubing Elevators, Slips, Tongs, and Clamps. Carried out Thread Gauge Inspection and all other fitness for purpose inspections required for rental of drilling tools and equipment. Prepared all documentation and certification, and supervised repair work. NDT methods were U.T, MPI, DPI, & EMD .


APRIL1994 - SEPT 1994 ATKINS INSPECTION
QUALITY SURVEYOR PIPELINE-Representing Statoil on the Castoro Sei Lay Barge, duties were to oversee and monitor all contractors Inspection activities including Welding, N.D.T, Coating, and Radiographic Interpretation, during the laying of The 40" Europipe and Zee pipe Subsea Gas pipelines, from Germany to Norway.

JUNE 1993 - MARCH 1994 CEC TIME THORNABY
NDT TECHNICIAN -Carried out NDT inspection’s to weldments, on Process pipe and Structural Steelwork, materials inspected included Carbon Steel, S/Steel, Duplex , Super Duplex and Cunifer.
Inspection methods were Ultrasonic's, MPI ,DPI, and. Radiography including the review of Radiographs, this was during the Marathon East Brae Hook Up,


FEB 1993 - JUNE 1993 SOLUS SCHALL & ATKINS INSPECTION
CLIENTS INSPECTOR PIPELINE- During the Shell Nelson and the B.G.C Morecambe Bay Pipelay Project. Carried out Welding inspection And Radiographic Interpretation, working on the E.T.P.M LB 200 &1601 Laybarges during their 1993 Subsea Pipelay projects . Manual and Fully Automatic Welding .

APRIL1992 - JANUARY 1993 Q.G.P.C OFFSHORE
STATION INSPECTOR - On the PS2 Oil & Gas Facility in the Persian Gulf offshore Qatar responsible for the coordination of inspectors during NDT, Coatings inspection, General modifications, Vessel and Topside surveys, Investigate and report on mechanical breakdown of Offshore Plant and Equipment such as Pumps Heat exchangers Valves. Monitor and Map extent of Corrosion on above plant and Report Findings.


JANUARY 1993 - APRIL1992 (AD HOC) O.I.L RECRUITMENT (TEXACO)
VENDOR INSPECTOR - Visited Vendors in and around Aberdeen during the manufacture and repair on a wide range of Oil related Surface and Subsurface equipment, including Xmas Trees, Valves, and a wide range of Drilling equipment Vendors included Vetco Gray and FMC, Inspection of Structural and Pipe spool fabrications. Also Carried out, Radiographic interpretation, Monitoring of Hydrostatic tests, and Review of Verifying Documents through to final release.


OCTOBER 1991 -JANUARY 1992 PENSPEN GROUP
SENIOR PIPEMILL INSPECTOR - Seconded by krupp Lhonro to oversee the manufacture of 20" H.F.I welded pipe, for the Feruka Harare Pipeline Zimbabwe, oversaw Manual and Automatic Ultrasonic inspection , Final bench inspection, Polyethylene Pipe Coatings . witnessed Mechanical Tests .
I was Based at the Mannessman Pipe and Coating mills in Mullheim and Dussledorf Germany.

PIPEMILL INSPECTOR - At the Clydesdale Tube Works Glasgow, duties were to oversee the manufacture of 8" seamless pipe for Amerada Hess, on their Rob Roy Ivanhoe Project.
SENIOR INSPECTOR -For the Amoco Ecofisk By -Pass Pipeline Project Norway, procured and inspected material for riser spool fabrication, covering Mechanical Tests, Welding, Coating, and N.D.T. Reviewed and signed off verifying documentation, and carried out Rad. Interpretation .


1985 - 1987 BIX GULF. DUBAI, DOHA
WELDING N.D.T INSPECTOR -Carried out welding Inspection, N.D.T, and Rad. interpretation. during the fabrication and installation of a Three Phase Test Separator, Initially in Doha, and then on site Jaleah. For Q.G.P.C Onshore operations.
Q/A Q/C SUPERVISOR.- For N.P.C.C Abu Dhabi, on their Lay Barge PLB 648, supervised welding, coating, and N.D.T operations during the renewal of Subsea pipelines, and Spool pieces In The Aramco Berri Field, Offshore
Saudi Arabia. Carried out Radiographic Interpretation .
SENIOR WELDING INSPECTOR - Seconded To Gulf Oil U.A.E on the DLB 17
Supervised, welding, coating, N.D.T & monitored Diving Operations .this on a 6" sub sea Pipeline. Carried Out Radiographic Interpretation , Hook up of Topside to Jacket .

SENIOR RADIOGRAPHER - During the construction of top sides and modules at the Kestrel Marine construction yard Dundee, Responsible for Supervision and organisation of crews, including all safety requirements pertaining to Radiography. Collated Inspection Reports and carried out Radiographic Interpretation. Liaison with Q/A Q/C departments.
Other duties were to carry out hands on N.D.T Inspection applying Radiography , Ultrasonic’s Magnetic particle and Dye penetrant inspection, to Weldments on Process Pipe and Structural Steelwork. Clients were B.P British Gas and Sun Oil. .
