Titan Contracting and Leasing Co., Inc. is an International Construction and Maintenance company headquartered in Owensboro, KY. Specializing in New Construction, Outage and Maintenance Services for : Power Generation Facilities, Refineries, including Pressure Vessel and Tank erection, Heavy Industrial Maintenance and the welding of specialty alloy metals.
Titan is seeking a Quality Control Manager for its Owensboro Headquarters with extensive knowledge using ASME Section I, Section IX, B31.1, 31.2, 31.3, AWS D1.1, D3 and API-650 and 653 codes. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast paced team oriented environment. Candidates must be physically fit, be willing to travel and have no fear of heights. In addition to holding a current CWI and Level II NDT the successful candidate must have knowledge of various welding and design processes.
Quality Control Manager must:
o Read and interpret blueprints and working drawings.
o Have a working knowledge of field erected tanks, pressure vessels and boiler components
o Have strong working knowledge of power plant, pulp, paper, chemical and refinery components
o Have strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and alloy welding and engineering requirements.
o Have extensive experience working within ASME Section I, Section IX, B31.1, 31.2, 31.3, AWS D1.1, D3 and API-650 and 653 codes
Responsibilities Include:
o Communicates information to Division Managers and Project Manager/Estimators to ensure that all bid proposals provide for proper compliance with applicable building code requirements and quality-related customer specifications.
o Supervision of Field QA/QC Technicians and Inspectors
o Reviews project documents for correctness and accuracy.
o Responsible for maintaining all licensing needed for operation of the Quality Control department
o Receives, reviews, and evaluates quotations and proposals from outside NDE firms
o Ensures that all inspections are performed in compliance with all applicable Qualification and Report requirements and NDE Procedures
o Revises and updates the company QC Manuals as necessary to ensure current code compliance
o Plans and conducts training for Welders and Welder Operators
o Welder parameter tracking and defect analysis; including root cause and reporting
o Ensures compliance with all company NDE Procedures, Welding Procedures and Welding Qualifications requirements
o Plans and conducts quality-related training on an ongoing basis, for in-house Inspectors, Field Superintendents and other employees
o Communicates with the company President, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager regarding urgent quality-related opportunities and issues as they arise
o Monitor statistical method reporting
o Action and close all customer complaints
o Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required
o Attend client quality meetings
Requirements:
o Current CWI License
o Current Level II NDT Certification
o Experienced RT, UT, VT, PT, and MT Inspector, certifications in these areas is a plus
o Previous Management/Corporate Management experience is preferred
o Previous Quality Control Management experience within Power Plants, Oil Refinery, Pulp and Paper or Chemical facilities is required
o Mathematical and statistical skills needed for evaluation of data
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o College degree preferred, but not required
