Many NDT personnel, myself included, began their careers in the military. The education you received is a good basic education and will probably be enough to get you a job with a company performing in house NDT on aircraft parts. To get into the petrochemical or nuclear industry you will have to be trained on the techniques used by them. You can find plenty of training opportunities on the net at www.asnt.org.
