In 1881, the Kendall Refining Company opened for business, and has evolved into the premier lubricants brand that we all know and love today. We plan to celebrate this milestone all year long, and this month we thought it would be fun to uncover interesting events and trivia from 1881 for our first installment of a new monthly column celebrating 125 years of Kendall product innovation! Rutherford Birchard Hayes finished his four-year term on March 3, 1881. The following day, President James Abram Garfield was sworn in as 20th President of the United States.
