Two articles have been published in Global Cosmetic Industry (GCI) Magazine by Penreco R & D personnel. In the February 2005 issue (p. 60), an article titled, "Baby Boomers Boost SPF Demand" describes the importance of demographic trends on the future sun care market, and how a higher viscosity oil phase of a sunscreen can provide emulsion stability and a higher SPF. Another article authored by Penreco was published in the September 2005 issue of GCI Magazine (p.38). This paper was titled, "Slippery Competition" and reviewed the strengths of petrolatum and mineral oil in light of various competitive products. These authors noted that the combination of performance, widespread use, safety, and cost effectiveness of petrolatum and mineral oil is unrivalled in personal care products.
