Note: 1/2008 to present: I have done part time, Level II and III, work for the local Landmark Aviation facility including classroom training in PT and ET. I helped set up their in house NDT program/practice. I am currently their Level III, on-call due to economic cutbacks. I have performed NDT on the Beech King Air.
10/01-1/12: I have worked at the Roanoke, VA base on overnight maintenance as an Aircraft Inspector doing Required Items Inspection (RII) and performed NDT as needed. 10/90-10/01: I was Shop Lead Mechanic in the Wheel, Brake and NDT Shop. I continued to perform shop maintenance, repair and inspection including NDT of aircraft components in the shop. I also performed NDT on overnight and heavy check Dash 8 aircraft. I continued to give classroom training and OJT in NDT. I continued to write procedures for the airline. I transferred to Roanoke with the desire to inspect aircraft in the hangar setting instead of the shop and because we like the Roanoke area.
1985-10/1990: I performed shop maintenance, repair and inspection including NDT of aircraft components. I began to teach NDT in the classroom, in 1988.
11/1982-1985: Previous to the shop; I performed hangar overnight maintenance of Henson Airlines aircraft Short’s 330, Beach 99 and deHavelland -7. This maintenance included some sheet metal work. The dH -8 was introduced just before I entered the shop.
Prior experience in aviation includes the US Navy (where I was honorably separated as an AMS 3), various small airlines and FBO’s. Contact me for more details. I have previous training and experience as a draftsman and have machine shop and auto garage experience.
Comments
I have been certified to the ASNT Level III in Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Testing. I have been tested and certified to NAS410 Level II in 4 methods including Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current and Ultrasound. I have over 25 years' experience in Non- Destructive Testing. I have been thoroughly trained and tested in accordance with the ASNT standard, SNT-TC-1A through outside agency and have been qualified and certified in accordance with NAS410. I have enough experience hours for each method to be more than adequate to fulfill the NAS 410 standard. I have computer skills and have done some drafting which enhanced my blueprint reading skill. I have developed and administered NDT training.
I have an Associate’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology and have more than 40 years of aviation maintenance experience. My communication skills have been developing over the years. My written and verbal skills in this highly technical field are among the best. I have experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. I have written procedures for testing and practices for NDT policy in three different companies. Although not a salesman, I take pride in being able to work with other people internally, suppliers and customers.
With my years of diverse aviation maintenance, QC inspection and NDT training, experience and qualification, I’m sure I would be an asset to your company. In addition to QC and NDT inspector, I have previously been a shop lead man in charge of a component maintenance shop including NDT. While performing NDT Level III duties I have functioned as a Level II performing inspections on aircraft and components. I am also able to do borescope and use precision instruments to measure dimensions.
