Fiberscope.net has added a small diameter iRis DVRx to their professional videoscopes product line. Previously, this modification of a popular iRis videoscope was available only with 4mm and 6mm articulating probes. The probe diameter is a crucial parameter which effectively defines the suitability of a video inspection device for a particular job. The iRis DVRx model is one of the most affordable PRO grade video borescopes in its market segment. Adding a small diameter option will definitely increase the spectrum of applications for this already popular model.

The new modification comes with a 3mm (0.118’’) probe, the ideal diameter for high precision inspections of aircraft and automotive engines. The extra durable tungsten braided probe features two-way articulation and ranges between 1.5 and 4m (4.9’ and 13.1’ respectively) in length. The superb quality image is provided by a top notch "chip on the tip" CMOS camera integrated in a short distal end. Expectedly, the probe is waterproof up to 14.7 psi as well as oil-proof and 5% saline resistant.

The iRis DVRx with the tiny diameter probe has an ergonomic small size DVR control box with direct action keys and an on-screen menu. It is equipped with a large 12.7 cm (or 5’’) integrated TFT color display with 640x480 VGA resolution. The unit possesses all necessary image control options such as a x3.5 digital zoom and a built-in text overlay generator. In accordance with the best industry standards the video borescope is dual-powered. It comes with a rechargeable Li-ion battery and a convenient 12V adapter.

The videoscope has a recording capacity, with video files being recorded as AVI Files, while still photos are stored in BMP format. Files of both types are automatically assigned a date and time stamp for their easies identification. A 32Gb SDHC card is sufficient for up to 500 hours of video or 32,000 still images.

The total weight of the unit designed in Germany and built in USA is only 1.35 kg (or just under 3 lbs.). Last but not least, an explosion-proof version of the videoscope is also available under individual orders. An attractive probe diameter coupled by excellent quality, a long list of functions and affordability make this new iRis DVRx model a choice of proffesionals.
