PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
To provide technical expertise to the NDT / Metallurgy Department in UT, MT, PT, RT, and visual inspection disciplines. Must be capable of working with little or no supervision.
PRINCIPAL AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Provide technical services in ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, radiography and visual inspection techniques.
• Assist in the metallurgical, drilling and construction services departments as needed.
• Actively promote AET's services for the purpose of securing work and increasing market share.
• Assist in the coordination of work on projects, including scheduling, interpreting results, reporting, and client interfacing.
• Follow all safety policies and QA procedures.
• Maintain a valid drivers license, free of specific violations.
JOB CONTENT:
1. Perform field and laboratory services - can consume 80% of the workweek.
2. Continued On-the-job training - can consume 10% of the workweek.
3. Maintenance of equipment and general shop conditions - can consume 2.5% of the workweek.
4. Maintain client contact for ongoing projects and interface with clients to schedule activities - can consume 2.5% of the workweek.
5. Assisting other departments as needed - can consume up to 5% of the workweek.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to walk/stand up to 80% of the day– often on uneven surfaces.
2. Must be able to climb/bend/stoop frequently.
3. Must be able to lift 50-70 lbs frequently.
4. Must be able to work in confined spaces or elevated areas occasionally.
Skills:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate degree in Nondestructive Testing Technology or equivalent.
2. Meet the requirements of Level I and be working toward the requirements for Level II SNT-TC-1A in UT, MT, PT, RT methods.
