Position Summary:

We are seeking a NAS410 qualified NDT Level II Liquid Penetrant (PT) Inspector for our team in Oxnard, California. The successful candidate will conduct liquid penetrant inspections on metallic materials in accordance with ASTM E1417, maintain detailed records, ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures, and demonstrate proficiency in using FPI equipment for inspections and system maintenance. This role demands attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 400 hours of experience in liquid penetrant inspection of metallic materials.
2. One year of properly documented NAS410 PT Level II experience in accordance with ASTM E1417.
3. Must acquire and maintain nondestructive testing certification by passing required written and practical examinations in accordance with NAS410.
4. Knowledge of all department equipment and operations.
Skills:
Technical Skills Required:

1. Conduct tests, interpret results, evaluate for acceptance and rejection, and document results.
2. Thorough knowledge of the scope and limitations of the method in which they are certified.
3. Familiarity with codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.

Soft Skills Required:

1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Attention to detail and good hand/eye coordination.
3. Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Penetrant Inspect newly manufactured and in-service aircraft parts in accordance with ASTM E1417, company procedures and work instructions.
2. Perform daily FPI system checks and document the results.
3. Perform daily FPI inspection of parts.
4. Maintain a daily FPI log of all parts processed.
5. Prepare solutions and process parts through necessary solutions for FPI operation.
6. Clean, apply penetrant solution, wash, develop, dry, and perform other preparatory operations.
7. Comply with standard procedures for checks on equipment.
8. Support the inspection by performing incoming and preliminary inspections.
9. Willingness to contribute to our Lean Journey through your creativity.

Additional Requirements:

1. Must pass a visual acuity exam.
2. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and random ongoing on-the-job drug and alcohol testing.
3. Must be able to regularly lift 15 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
4. Must have the ability to work while sitting, standing and 5. walking for an 8 hour work day.
6. Must have the ability to work in a warm and humid environment.
7. Must maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
8. Must follow all safety rules.
