Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of NDE Level III Specialist located in Richmond, CA through November 8, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: - The NDE Level III Specialist ​ is responsible for maintaining the technical expertise in the area of NDE and inspection, actively identifying threats and opportunities to the company based on technical knowledge and industry experience. - Ensure NDE quality by performing field audits, contractor procedure review and auditing/tracking Technician Certifications and CVX Qualifications. - The Level III NDE Specialist will be a part of the NDE CoP, aligning on NDE strategies/guidelines throughout Chevron Downstream and investigating/trialing new NDE Technology. - Responsible for performing Advanced NDE Field Inspections on high priority jobs, including Turnarounds. Limited travel (<5%) is required to attend industry conferences, training, and/or Chevron network meetings. - Additional hours are required to work during turnarounds. - This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Candidates must demonstrate personal commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a proven track record in Safety and Reliability
Skills:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License.
- Knowledge of industry recognized damage mechanisms and fixed equipment reliability and condition monitoring programs and practices.
- Must be familiar with applicable Codes and Standards
- Able to provide technical oversight of NDE activities.
Must have ability to gain support from cross functional team to leverage NDE technology.
- Serve as a technical resource to assist in training/guidance of NDE personnel and Fixed Equipment - Inspectors on NDE inspection techniques, associated applications, and limitations to detect damage mechanisms in fixed equipment.
- Must acquire ASNT Level III within one year of hire
- Must have experience in Automated UT and TOFD
- Must be Phased Array Certified, with API Qualification(s)
ASNT Level II in Ultrasonics, Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
General Level II Knowledge in other NDE methods such as RT and ET.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Must have ability to communicate in clear and accurate sharing of facts in both written and verbal forms.
- Proven ability to work and collaborate across different disciplines and organizations.
ASNT Level III in one or more Methods
Chevron UTT, UTSW and PA Qualified
- Knowledge of practical application of NDE techniques and inspection strategies for complex refining damage mechanisms and able to provide technical oversight of NDE activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
