PCC Structurals, Inc. is a division of Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) which is a Fortune 500 company located in beautiful Portland, OR. PCC Structurals makes the largest investment castings in the world in Titanium, Steel, and Superalloy.

PCC Structurals has a unique opportunity for an NDT III with digital experience in the castings industry. This highly visible and full-time position will help transition our plants to using digital processes. This hands-on role requires excellent communications skills such as training others as well as the ability to travel to our different plants(approximately 30%).

Purpose:

This position may be assigned to be Responsible Level III per NAS 410. They will be tasked with qualification and certification of NDT personnel to NAS 410, auditing NDT systems at their assigned facility and evaluation and compliance of all NDT processes and systems. The NDT Level III shall be recognized internally and externally as a technical expert in their field. They are to be competent to act as a technical liaison representing PCC as a prime technical contact.

Essential Job Functions:

-Prepare and verify work instructions for NDT methods to be in compliance with customer specification and requirements.
-Train, test and certify NDT inspectors in the method(s) and techniques certified per the latest revision of PCC’s Quality Control procedures.
-Analyzes and interpret inspection quality data, conduct research on product defects, and recommend modification in products or quality standards, where such appear to be warranted.
-Serves as liaison with customers on items NDT related inspection and visit customers and suppliers where necessary on specific inspection matters.
-Provide guidance and expertise to sales, engineering and manufacturing on NDT issues with regards to customer inquires.
-Perform system audits on all NDT areas of the assigned campuses and annexes.
-Assist in the development of new NDT process and procedures with regards to new technology and customer approval of that technology.
-Insure compliance with customer and government regulations as pertaining to the inspection departments, including ability to interpret codes standards and other contractual documents.
-Assist Responsible Level III as required and directed in all aspects of the NDT inspection program.
-Develop new inspection methods and/or programs that promote cost reduction activities.


Skills:
Qualifications:

-Four years of college with a degree in NDT, or four years of experience in each NDT method or a combination of both inspection and other processes.
-Investment casting experience required (3+ years)
-Certified ASNT level III in Radiography (RT), penetrant (PT). Level III in magnetic particle (MT), Digital x-ray and/or other methods may be required.
-Must have excellent communication and analytical skills.
