Manufacturing Engineer – medical, programming, VMC, swiss lathe, orthopedics

Growing manufacturer of high precision medical devices and orthopedic implants is expanding their engineering department. We are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer with 4plus years of experience working in medical machining and 5 plus years of engineering machined components. Interested candidates will need past experience in some of the following processes: 4 or 5 axis vertical machining centers, EDM, multi axis turning with sub spindle and live tooling or multi axis swiss CNC lathes. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for selecting equipment, selecting cutting tools, designing fixtures, processing components, calculating cycletimes, CNC programming, operator work instructions and inspection instructions. Past experience using CAM software, macro programming or modifying post processors in a plus. This position will support the shop floor troubleshooting machine and tooling issues. The Manufacturing Engineer will often follow the process out to the shop floor to ensure sets ups are complete and to debug set ups. Past hands on machining experience is a big plus. The ideal candidates will have lathe and mill experience, solid programming, experience machining various grades of stainless steel, titanium and exotic alloys and good documentation skills.
